Time management

I will be completing my mise en scene and taking my pictures for my magazine, including the front cover with my actors, as soon as we return after half term, including all of the aspects i have described in my previous posts. 

camera angles

camera angles

my camera angles for my front cover will be a straight shot, with the camera being in the centre straight ahead of the actors. For the pictures inside of my magazine i will be varying shots from, medium close ups to a long shot. I think this will make the image look clear, as there are three actors being used, none of them will be taking centre stage and the angle will not make the picture closer to any of them, all three of them will be clearly shown in the picture.

For my contents page i will be taking a long shot of one of the actors as it will be a double page spread.

props

Props

The props i will be using for my pop magazine will be, 

• microphones,
• a guitar.

i will be using these props to make my pictures look better.

i think that this looks very appealing to the age range i am targeting that is why my props will be added in to a similar image, with the same blank background, i have already mentioned.

costume

costume and make up

The costume i will be going for, for my pop magazine will be subtle, black and white colours so that the back ground can be a peach colour and they will stand out, they will all be in black and white just different styles, ether, dresses, skirts or jeans. There costume will make them look like they are a girl band and also appeal to a lot of girls, which is my target audience. 

For the makeup, i will be going for a subtle look, with quite plain makeup, for example, There will also be different hair styles i will want for my pictures.

On the front cover of my magazine i will be using three actors, these will be kate skeggs, abbi harper and rachel allen. I want to make it look like they are in a girl band because i am basing my magazine around pop, i will want the actors on my front cover to stand out and fit in to my genre.

I will also use these three same actors through out my magazine, ether as a group or on their own.

location

Location

My location will be in school with a blank wall behind them, it will be a clear space as i want the focus to be on the actors and the actors only. Having a blank background behind them will make them stand out more. I will be taking my pictures in school. this gives me a clear space so i can add the text in to my front cover.

my magazine genre

My previous posts have looked in to different genres of music, by looking at a range of different magazines i have decided to base my magazine on pop.

For my pop magazine i will use the following specifications;

• Age- 13-17
• Gender- female,
• Genre- pop,
• Social status- Teenagers, or students,
• Price- £2.50, because this is what teenagers who have less money will be able to afford.
• In my magazine i will use the following bands such as, Little Mix and One direction, because these are global stars who are recognisable and also appeal to the teenage audience.

Even though this pop magazine is sold for £2.99, my magazine will be slightly less as this will be more affordable for the range of people i am trying to aim my magazine at.

many artists that star in this magazine are known world wide, they are usually big boy bands, which appeal to girls, or well known girl stars. local stars have not been in this magazine, as many people would not know who they are. they will be known globally. Here are some examples;

Q magazine

there famous people in this magazine are varied, to appeal to a larger audience, it could be people from the 90's or new upcoming artists, by doing this there will be a lot more people who would be interested in buying this magazine, up to now no local bands or singers have been in this magazine as not many people would recognise them, it is usually people known all over the world. mainly global stars. Here are some examples; 

Kerrang 

there is mostly well known rock bands who are in this magazine, because the magazine focuses mainly on rock, this is what they have to show. people who listen to this genre of music will recognise the band on the front cover, this way many more copies would be sold. Here are some examples;

By doing this research it is clear to me that having artists that are globally known, will stand out to many more people, which will sell more copies of the magazine.

This magazine is aimed at a teenage audience up to round about 15 year olds, the main gender for this magazine would be females and doesn't discriminate to any social class. The bright girly colours make this obvious as this would catch their attention if it was on a shelf.

Q magazine

Q magazine would appeal to the older over 18 male and females as it contains a lot of unisex content, the social class could be anyone as it is not an expensive magazine and is affordable by many people.

 The style is also kept very plain with red, which men and women both like.

Kerrang

kerrang magazine is there to appeal to male and females who have an interest in rock music, weather you are a 16 year old or a 25 year old, this is also an affordable magazine and is bought by many people with different social classes. Mainly black is used through out this magazine, which men and women both like.

This magazine is made by a big publisher and is read by hundreds of teenagers.

Q magazine was published by  EMAP media group in October 1986. just like kerrang magazine it is read by thousands of people. the two people who made this magazine, setting itself apart from much of the other music press with monthly production and higher standards of photography and printing.

kerrang is published by Bauer Media Group and read by roughly thousands of people weekly. Kerrang! was initially devoted to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and the rise of hard rock acts.

There is a new magazine out each week, costing £3.99. Up to now there has been 57 issues printed.

This magazine costs £3.90, an issue of this magazine is printed every month and there has been about 500 issues up to date.

Kerrang magazine has a big focus on rock music, it costs £2.20 and is published every week, there has been about 1560 issues.

what genre interests me

The genre of pop music is the one that interests me the most because there is a wider range to focus on, i think with pop music there is more of a wider audience that shows an interest. Pop music is the one i know most about, which is another reason i would like my magazine to be focused on. For example, Q magazine was one of the ones that interested me the most because it included some of the bigger stars eve though there is some rock music in the magazine.

Another genre i like is one that included various music types, just like Billboard magazine, there is a lot more that is included in these types of magazines because it could have a lot of bands from rock to rap music.
